𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦, 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧

𝘌𝘚𝘗𝘙 (𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯) / DPP (the Digital Product Passport) In force since 18 July 2024, product DPPs phasing in ~2027–2030

While everyone focuses on ESPR and the DPP, it's PPWR that lands first.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗣𝗪𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗦

From 12 August 2026, packaging placed on the EU market

— boxes, bags, protective fill, e-commerce parcels, labels

— must meet new requirements: · A Declaration of Conformity before it can be placed on the market · Limits on substances of concern, including heavy metals and PFAS · Reported data on weight, materials, recycled content, and recoverability

𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡, 𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘

Both regulations point to the same question: what happens when the user is done — with the product and its packaging? Recyclability, recovery, and 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 mean brands are accountable for end-of-life, not just what they put on the shelf.

EU readiness is a product + packaging + end-of-life picture and the pieces are on different clocks.

At CARE ID, we're watching all of it closely.
