What a DPP is

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a product's digital record, introduced under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). It holds information such as the product's durability, reparability, recycled content and recyclability, the presence of substances of concern (SoC), and environmental footprint, along with care and maintenance guidance. Under the sector-specific Textile Delegated Act, expected around 2027 and followed by an 18-month transition period, textile products entering the EU will need a DPP for each product; once in force, textile products without a DPP will not be able to be placed on the EU market. A DPP is accessed by scanning a QR code or NFC tag (data carriers) attached to the item. This makes the Tier-1 factory increasingly vital to the process, as the data carrier is attached during final assembly.

Introducing DPP-Lite

Introducing DPP-Lite

DPP-Lite is CARE ID's answer to this shift, built for manufacturers. It captures production data as the work happens across the whole process, from input to output: factory setup and accounts, inventory, production tasks, quality control and shipping, together with the environmental data behind ESG reporting. Attendance and payroll are recorded in the same system for the factory's own use and stay within the factory. What reaches the brand is the production evidence: verified, first-hand data feeding the brand's DPP. The factory keeps the fuller picture for its own planning and digital transformation, and each product or bundle carries a QR code linking to its DPP-Lite record, so the factory can send each client exactly the data they require as a link or a report, through a web- and app-based system.
