CIRPASS-2 and CARE ID’s role
CIRPASS-2 is part of the European Union (EU)’s Digital Europe Programme and aims to promote sustainability and the circular economy by advancing the adoption of Digital Product Passports (DPPs) across multiple industries. The project seeks to digitalise product lifecycle information in sectors such as textiles, electronics, tyres, and construction materials to enhance transparency and support more efficient use of resources.
By participating in CIRPASS-2’s Community of Practice (CoP), CARE ID is collaborating on the design of DPPs and interoperability testing, with a particular focus on the textile sector.
Through this work, CARE ID plans to contribute to advancing sustainable digital product management across Asia, including Korea.

The role of the Community of Practice (CoP)
The Community of Practice (CoP) is a collaborative platform that brings together providers of DPP-as-a-Service platforms and product management software—such as PIM, ERP, PLM, and MES—to support interoperability and technical integration of DPP systems. The group discusses and collaborates on the technical requirements and practical implementation of DPPs, with the aim of enabling adoption across diverse industries.
The benefits of CARE ID’s participation in the CoP include:
1. Advancing interoperability: CARE ID works with a range of solution providers within the CoP to support interoperability across DPP systems. This helps improve data compatibility between technologies and enables more integrated solutions.
2. Opportunities for global collaboration: By participating in the CoP, CARE ID gains opportunities to collaborate with global partners in alignment with the EU’s digital transformation strategy, supporting the development of sustainable business models in Korea and across the Asian market.
3. Digital innovation in the textile sector: In line with the guidelines of CIRPASS-2 EWG3 (the textile sector group), CARE ID plans to apply DPPs and carry out practical validation, contributing to the textile industry’s digital transformation and sustainability.
