CARE ID has joined a KRW 11.8 billion national R&D project under Korea Planning&Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as a core data infrastructure partner.

The project titled The Carbon-Zero Textile and Fashion Industry Ecosystem Transition Programme brings together twelve organisations spanning the full length of the Korean textile supply chain: ISAE F&C (이새에프엔씨), Huvis Corporation, Ilshin Spinning (일신방직), Gunbaek (건백), Uniatex (유니아텍스), BLACKYAK Co., Ltd., Sije (시제), KOMSCO (한국조폐공사), Korea Textile Development Institute (한국섬유개발원), Korea Textile Trade Association (한국섬유수출입협회), KOTITI Testing and Research Institute, and Yune Inc. (CARE ID).

CARE ID’s role within the consortium is to integrate production data, energy usage, material traceability, and testing results from each supply chain stage into a single product-level DPP.

The broader objective is to build a K-DPP model, a Korean Digital Product Passport standard, capable of connecting data across all twelve institutions in one traceable flow. As EU DPP requirements for textile products approach, the ability to verify carbon reduction through structured, auditable data is becoming a practical condition for market access.

This is the first time Korea’s textile supply chain has attempted this kind of end-to-end data integration at a national R&D level. The project runs from 2026 to 2030.
