What happens when you spend 60 minutes introducing fashion students to Digital Product Passports (DPP)?
Last week, our CEO 노힘찬 gave a guest lecture at Hansung University 한성대학교’s Global Fashion Department on why DPP matters for the future of fashion and surveyed 51 students after the session. The results in the illustration below capture how significantly perceptions shifted after a single lecture.
→ 75% had never heard of DPP before the lecture
→ 92% said they would choose a DPP-equipped garment afterwards
→ Concern for environmental impact increased by +107%
→ Concern for labor conditions increased by +112%
→ 61% opted in to hear about CARE ID career opportunities
One lecture shifted how students perceived transparency in fashion.
As the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation moves toward making DPP mandatory for textiles, today’s fashion students may become the first generation to build their careers in a world where product-level transparency is expected by default. They deserve the opportunity to understand that shift before entering the industry.
We hope to continue these conversations across academia and industry as DPP becomes part of the future fashion ecosystem.
